What We Do

We host various workshops, events, and public shows, including our popular monthly Animal Science Club, fayres, and public events. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to develop their knowledge and skills while working with a wide range of exotic species.

What We’re Looking For

Volunteers 16 years and older who are eager to learn and build a career in the animal industry.
Those who have their own transport or a reliable way of getting to our various venues.
Individuals in good physical health, as the role requires the handling of animals and the movement of equipment.
Enthusiastic people who are excited to develop their skills in animal care and handling, while supporting the success of our workshops and events.

Benefits:

Volunteers will have the opportunity to enrol in the AQA Unit Award Scheme, with all costs covered by us (registration fee only).

Legal Requirements (UK):

All volunteers must be 16 years old or older.
As volunteers may work with animals, we comply with UK animal welfare and safety laws to ensure the wellbeing of both our animals and volunteers.
Volunteers will be covered under our public liability insurance, but we recommend that you have personal insurance coverage as well, particularly when handling certain species.
Due to the nature of the work, volunteers must adhere to health and safety standards, including any risk assessments required for handling specific animals and equipment.
We follow all employment laws regarding volunteers, including proper documentation and safeguarding measures for those under 18. Volunteers will also have a designated supervisor or mentor during their time with us.
